AnitFa Protest at Gettysburg

Saw a couple news articles that this hate group is threatening to desecrate grave sites this weekend at Gettysburg. Their protest is supposedly against Confederate flags and grave sites of Confederate soldiers. I don't think this group has a clue whom they would be dealing with if that's true. This is the same group who protested in Portland, Or. a while back.

Grave sites and the ground itself is considered sacred to locals, re-enactors(who will number in the hundreds) and pretty much everyone living in the area. This certainly would not be a soft target for a protest. Hoping this is a hoax.

The "Antifa" people have written to complain that your misspelling of their name is unacceptable.

They are offended.

Intentional to egg them on.

PP, I watched about 10 minutes live, looked fairly peaceful. I may be in Portland sometime this summer as my son and family live there. Great beer and food stands there.

Discussion about people who would desecrate the graves of Civil War dead belongs in another thread.

The one about the death penalty.

Good beer and food stands indeed, but lots of idiots here. Per KOIN news, looks like there were some fights tonight.

Hopefully they'll be smart enough to avoid Gettysburg, since the "good-old-boy" factor of the attendees will be a far cry from what they see in Portland.

According to published reports, local Antifa protesters are asking members to bring Confederate flags to the battlefield and burn them. According to one social media posting, Antifa protesters may also desecrate Confederate graves.

The rumors have found their way to conservative media, including the widely read Breitbart.com, which warned readers:

"Should members of the 'Antifa' movement carry out their plan to desecrate the graves of soldiers who fell at Gettysburg, they will join the Taliban, ISIS, and Turkish Islamists who have launched a campaign to destroy historic sites and desecrate graves of their enemies," Breitbart's Warner Todd Huston wrote.
Sounds like the potential for gunfire here...
