In area Australia is about the same size as the lower 48 of the US,but it has 3 million fewer people than Texas. Unlike countries in Europe and North America who can ship cars to nearby neighboring countries, Australia has no nearby neighboring countries and the countries that are closest to them like New Zealand and New Guinea have small populations or are poor.I'm surprised they had car manufacturing for this long.
