HH, I've uninstalled and re-installed multiple times in the past, but from a back up. The .exe file is in the program files but not sure why you think it needs locating.

I'm curious, within the FrmTempls folder, are there any other files other than .efr files? Also, keep in mind that everything else within ES works perfectly except FV.

MJ, thank you for that suggestion. I would hate to lose the ability to use Equisim. I don't think I can handicap without it. I simply love the program.

The exe file I am referring to is the installation (setup) file not the Equisim program exe file. The name of the installation file will be something like ESROI_19_REG.exe. With your custom version it might be ESROI_20_REG.exe.

Terminology might be getting in the way here. To be clear, you can't reinstall from a backup. You can only restore from a backup. Did you just copy the ES folder structure to another drive or did you actually use a backup program like Macrium or Acronis? If it was the former, did you just copy the backup folder(s) to the drive you wanted ES to be on and are calling it "reinstalling"?

I am suggesting that you uninstall ES and then reinstall from the actual setup program mentioned above and NOT from the backup. I doubt that this is a Windows problem; rather I suspect as you did, that a core file or files are missing. The only way to make sure that the necessary files are available is to use the original setup program that Nathan sent to you. I don't have any other ideas on how to fix the error.

To answer your other question, yes -- the only files in the FrmTempls folder should be the .efr files.

Thanks HH, you are absolutely correct. I restored it from a backup. I will try to locate the original. Thanks for all the suggestions.

This was a doozy of a post....

With computers a restore is only from the "Recycle Bin" or a complete "System Restore"

Your also can back-up/restore folders with pictures, data , music but never

never restore from a programs folder...Computers 101

All my important Setup files are either in Dropbox or I emailed them to myself

and put it in my Emails "Saved" folder"...
