It is complete BS and you know it. Why not seek asylum in Mexico as opposed to traveling over a month and over 2,000 miles on foot to get to the United States?
Obviously they weren't in any danger during their month long trek through Mexico, right?

Wrong.

Dan, for the record, just how many "asylum seekers" have you taken in? I mean, they could camp in your back yard, and such.
Or could it be that you are just another arm chair bleeding heart?

For 15 years my wife and I hosted a graduate student from abroad through a local college program. Every three years we had a student stay with us for about seven months. Two were from Africa (Somalia and Gabon), and the other three were from the UK, China, and Venezuela. We still keep in touch with all but one of them.
We'd love to host a refugee family, but there are a million and one governmental hoops to jump through, so we haven't pursued it. We should probably step up our efforts though, just so I'm not called out again here for having the gall to support law and human rights.

No self-respecting liberal should EVER allow a child to come to this cowboy gun slingin' kill box of a country!
Taking them and locking them up is for their safety.

Exchange students. Actually awesome.
Glad you are willing to take in a refuge family. What are the hoops? Can't you just go to a sanctuary city and pick one? Who keeps score?

People that go through the paperwork to come in here are fine.
People that feel entitled to all American rights after illegally crossing the border...I have no sympathy for.

Exactly! It is analogous to inviting guests into your home and then once inside think they have the same rights and privileges as the hosts.

Are you really trying to compare that with welcoming an illegal who has crossed the border on foot? Come on down here to Texas and we can hook you up with a couple guys. You can take them home with you. But you’re going to have to wait until they finish their daily shift of burglary and overnight thefts.
Bring pictures of your house......it might help persuade them

I stayed away from this thread knowing I would only get upset about the uncaring idiocy of PA off topic Trumpeteers spewing their very hateful ideology.
Why Does Trump Treat Immigrant Kids Cruelly? Because He Can
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/25/o...migration.html
Why do we tolerate a policy that is so cruel to young children? For precisely the reason Dr. Seuss identified in a 1941 cartoon, which accompanies this column. While Dr. Seuss is best known for the likes of “The Cat in the Hat,” he published this cartoon as a commentary on America’s turning away Jewish refugees trying to flee Hitler.

When Dan knows his argument is dead in the water, he resorts to personal attacks. Typical crybaby liberal left.

Sure mr. hcap. If your kind had it their way there would be only signs at the borders like states have. There would also be 70 million living in Texas instead of the current 20. That's just Texas. We don't have the resources to properly care for such numbers. Eventually the poor would suffer. That's how it would play out if the left had it their way.
Common logic always prevails and once again the left is hung out to dry. Stupid is a horrible disease.

That's the ultimate goal to socialism: To bring America down to size because we became what we are on the backs of the poor and downtrodden. We deserve to become a third world country so that other less fortunate countries can assume our former place of greatness in the world.
