I got cheap and left the  off the ticket and Saez stole the race with perfect positioning. Guys like Jose Ortiz or Luis Saez in this race get some extra wins simply because they understand the value of 'taking the initiative'. The was left with work to do, and that's never a certainty with 12.5 claimers...
That was going to be a nice Pick 3. The other 2 legs were the 'smart' legs, but I got cheap in the coverage leg... best lesson I ever bought for $6.

Pretty dumb by me. If you are going to key the longest shot on the board 3rd, and spend the money for every other horse, you have no business tossing 1 horse from the ticket. Either you make a straight bet or you include the others.
Lot of LEARNING so far today.
