So now Ely and I are the same poster?
You guys are too much. First your head almost exploded trying to figure out what name I used to post under (as if it’s difficult to figure out). Now this?
My post included facts about why it was not a hoax. Yours is emotion based opinions. Remind me again about how my post was super shallow?

Really Jay, I did not say that and I said someone sent a pm. You should send one to Ely and confer with him.

Come on that clip is funny. Maybe if you didn’t view everything through orange colored glasses you’d be able to laugh a little.
Twisted questions? I was trying to gauge just how strong your hero worship is. Your McCain commentary answered it but I was being genuine.

Ohhhh you used my first name. How cryptic of you. Are you going to threaten me next for disagreeing with you?
Tom is a pretty well respected member here, right? I’m sure he can vouch that Ely and I aren’t the same person. Just Ralph can as well.

I should’ve let him go a few more days thinking it. It took him over a week to figure out what name I used to post under and I’m not sure he knows yet.
I don’t think that other board is up. I haven’t been there in years.

I'm sure plenty of people dislike Trump just because he's Trump. I think almost anyone, right or left, would agree he can be grating at times (the pantomime of the reporter with a disease). But there are also plenty of people who dislike Trump for some of his policies. I think the tariff was a bad move. I think "the wall" is not the right way to solve a problem almost everyone agrees is a problem. Dropping out of the Paris accord was a grandstand play. Trump strikes me as the sort of person it wouldn't be fun to have a beer with, but that's me.
If you think the "hate Trump wing" has a lot to say, it's not more than the "hate Hillary wing" and the "hate Obama wing." It's the nature of politics and apparently the nature of some on PA to only one side is right. You have to be pragmatic. He's the president regardless of anyone's opinion. You also have to be optimistic. 2020 isn't that far away.

Wrong. It was an economic play. It was yet another transfer mechanism for Gov't to pay corporations. Same as welfare.....

When it comes to politics, I believe that "optimism" and 'pragmatism' are direct opposites...so, I don't see how someone could presume to be both. To me...the "pragmatic" scenario is to endeavor to structure our lives in a way which allows us to remain as unaffected as possible by the politicians whom we are forced to elect. How much comfort can I take in the upcoming 2020 election...when I am fully confident that I will again be asked to select the "best of two evils"?

Of course it was grandstanding. We were going to meet the reductions we committed to in the Paris agreement whether we were in or out. That's why WE (not any other country) chose that number. There was no law, no penalty if we didn't meet the reduction number. All Trump had to do was sit back and watch, then take credit. His move abdicated policy and influence to the Chinese and the [Asian] Indians. Absolutely a "look at me, I'm a President" move.

Ain't quite there yet are ya' pal. Check out our contributions to the "needy" countries if they can't meet their goals. While you are at it, talk to officers of US companies, as I have, about the pact of the Paris bullshit.....and their anticipated profits. Just another transfer mechanism.
It was a sham..
